We attended an amazing event this week hosted by the Robin Hood Foundation. The awe inspiring speeches helped to raise over 57 million in one night, how amazing!! All proceeds go directly to funding programs to find solutions to poverty in New York City and beyond – an amazing cause and if you are not aware of it please check it out.

Given the hefty price tag for admission (starting at $3k) the performances were top notch. Neil Young, a surprise performer and legend, came on just as guests dug into grilled cheese (our favorite) and gazpacho. Then Rihanna kicked off the end of the evening with “Only Girl” and kept the crowd with “Run This Town” and “Live Your Life.”

Given the conservative audience it was amusing to see how Rihanna went tribal on stage, dressed as some sort of jungle warrior princess outfit that was not flattering for her body. With an Egyptian themed stage, she wore an elaborate outfit that was super short, we were not necessarily fans of but it got us excited about this summer and travel plans. Gold is the perfect neutral for the summer as it glows like the sun. Where are you all off to this summer??

One of our favorite events of the year is the Costume Gala as that is where everyone puts on their game face and tries to gives the WOW factor. It was definitely steamy on the red carpet last night in NYC as there was so much skin seductively peeking through dresses we had to calm down the boys. Our favorites of the night were some unusual suspects - Solange Knowles and Emma Roberts – as we felt they perfectly accessorized themselves with the right amount of bling and we LOVED the color of their dresses too, mellow yellow! Whether it is a few diamond bracelets piled on together or one knockout bracelet you can not go wrong when you choose one hand to showcase the dazzlers. And we had to include Sofia just because we love her and she has been nailing her look flawlessly all year.

What was oh so wrong was Mrs. Jessica Parker who looked like she was handcuffed with the two cold bangles on each wrist, such a NO NO, she should know better. Can’t wait to see the hits and misses of next year.

Looks like we have babies on the brain as all we saw on the streets yesterday was one pregnant woman followed by another, is there another baby boom going on? With flowers blooming early and allergies at its height we feel for all you out there who are struggling with the weather so we want to glisten your day with some gem chat.

We were thrilled to hear the good news this morning that Giuliana & Bill are finally going to have a baby. They already know the sex but are going to keep it a secret for now, what do you think boy or girl? We say girl so time will tell if we’re right. How perfect would a little chick be for G…and Bill is such a sweetheart, she would certainly be a daddy’s girl.

Now this got us thinking about push presents and what will G wear…she is pretty classic in her daily fashions (a ridiculously stunning engagement and wedding ring paired with her Rolex) so we selected a layering necklace that would be perfect for her to wear everyday with no fuss. We are on fire with Spring fever and have been spreading the love with our clients to their loved ones….from weddings to birthdays, anniversary’s and just because I love you, gems have been flying all around town in NYC and beyond. We just checked out the “Cartier & Aldo Cipullo, New York City in the ’70s,” an exhibition of archival images on view at the Fifth Avenue flagship (through May 8). We were so inspired by the latest must-have items from Cartier, the Juste un Clou (“Just a Nail”) collection. A reinterpretation of a bracelet that Aldo Cipullo designed for the house in 1971, bracelets and rings come in white and rose gold, with and without diamonds. It is the perfect alternative to the LOVE collection, prices range from $3000 and shoot up to a $35,000. We love that industrial materials like nuts and bolts, chains and cable wire have been used to create the edgy and bold jewelry. Definitely worth adding to your wish list for this MOTHER’S DAY! Have you checked out the latest commercial from Cartier? If not check out the link below, it is jaw dropping! This house of luxury oozes sparkle and makes us want all the gems they show in this 3.5 minute dreamland. The ad was created by the Marcel ad agency of Paris, and directed by Bruno Aveillan, the model is Shalom Harlow. The three big cats used in the production are named Cali, Tiga and Damou.
