We just checked out the “Cartier & Aldo Cipullo, New York City in the ’70s,” an exhibition of archival images on view at the Fifth Avenue flagship (through May 8). We were so inspired by the latest must-have items from Cartier, the Juste un Clou (“Just a Nail”) collection. A reinterpretation of a bracelet that Aldo Cipullo designed for the house in 1971, bracelets and rings come in white and rose gold, with and without diamonds. First off congrats to the Giants, what a game! Ever wonder what those championship rings are worth and who makes them? Well that’s what was on our mind while watching the game so we did a little research. The NFL pays up to $5,000.00 per ring, with up to 150 rings per team. If the rings are over the $5,000 limit, the team owners must make up the difference. Recent rings have been appraised in excess of $20,000, with some valued at $45,000. but manufacturers keep this information confidential of course but past rings have sold at auction for some steep prices. Up to 2004 all rings were made by Jostens, the same company your own class ring or sports ring might have come from – which we found interesting. There is no word on the street yet on who is making this years but we can’t wait to see what it will look like so stay tuned…

12 months can seem like an eternity but somehow when it is January of the next year it all seems like it flew by at the speed of light. As we take a look back, there were so many celebrations that went by from Anniversaries to Birthdays, Weddings and of course all we wanted to know was what GIFTS stole your heart. The US Open did not disappoint last night, after over 4 hrs of ridiculous tennis where Novak took home his first US Open title, we could not have been more thrilled – congrats! Of course we stared at these too handsome men and the gems on their wrist – WATCHES. Nadal wore his usual $525,000 Richard Mille 027 Tourbillon timepiece that he sported at this year’s French Open. With a carbon-composite case and lithium alloys, the watch weighs in at a mere 20 grams — supposedly light enough to not interfere with Nadal’s game but guess last night it may have set him off in the wrong direction. We can’t believe he rocks this watch on the court as only 50 of the timepieces will be produced.
Then there is Novak Djokovic who did not wear a watch during his game, possibly letting him breathe a little more as he jumped for every shot. But at the ceremony he quickly slipped on his Audemars Piguet for which he is their newest professional sports ambassador.
